Osinbajo's absence from Tinubu's rallies: The APC

The All Progressives Congress has explained why Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and several other party members are not endorsing Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate.

Some APC members, including the Vice President, have not been seen advocating for their party’s nominee since the APC launched its campaign for president on November 15, 2022, in Jos.

Osinbajo, who recently attended the Baptist Boys High School in Abeokuta’s 100th anniversary celebration, has been seen visiting other social events. He had been quiet on Tinubu’s campaign since he lost the party’s primary.

Even on social media, where the vice president has a sizable following and regularly tweets about his important activities, he has never shared any content endorsing Tinubu’s campaign.

Chris Ngige, the minister of labor and employment, has also been missing from his party’s campaign bus.

Festus Keyamo, a spokesman for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, responded by saying that the Vice President was acting in accordance with the President’s instruction to focus on governance.

Rotimi Amaechi (the former minister of transportation) recently visited Adamawa State and Jos; he has been attending rallies but he has chosen the ones he wants to attend, he stated.

It was a command for the Vice President to take on governance, and as you can see, the President has been out campaigning. Additionally, Ngige is not running a campaign against our party; rather, he just stated that he will remain impartial for his own reasons. There are 43 ministers in total.

Unlike the PDP, which has all but dissolved, the APC has a very powerful coalition.
